Our agents have many years of experience both in student travel and as former music educators. We believe this gives Choice Music Tours a unique understanding of all the elements of student travel! Your tour agent has first hand "on the ground" experience guiding tours all over the country. When they work with you in planning your trip they can speak from actual experience with the location.
Each year our tour agents personally escort trips all over the country. For those trips on which the tour agent does not travel, we provide a highly experienced tour guide who will meet you upon arrival and stay with you throughout your tour ensuring everything is taken care of for you. Your tour guide will work personally with your tour agent to be sure your trip is worry free. Each group works with a representative in our office from the proposal stage to the end of their tour.

PMEA Citation of Excellence winner Jim Falvo brings 44 years of travel experience to Choice Music Tours. Jim came to CMT in 2002, during his 9 years the CMT staff and clients have increased four fold. Noted for his organizational skills along with his Superior rated bands at Canon-McMillan High School, Jim has organized over 100 student trips including Los Angeles, Myrtle Beach, Williamsburg, Virginia Beach, Chicago, New York City and Orlando among others in the United States and to Montreal, Toronto and Mexico City.
Jim is a Past President of PMEA District 1 and serves as a PMEA Adjudicator and guest conductor. Jim received both his Bachelor and Master’s of Music Education Degrees from the Creative Arts Center of West Virginia University. Jim is a member of PMEA, MENC, ASBDA, NBA, and Phi Beta Mu.
A PMEA Citation of Excellence winner and a National Band Association Citation of Excellence recipient, Bill Galvin brings 41 years of education and travel experience to Choice Music Tours.
Bill is skilled at planning, budgeting, teacher training and student and parent relations. His Trinity High School groups performed at the MENC Eastern Conference, three Music for All National Music Festivals, and four PMEA In-Service Conferences. The Trinity High School Band placed first eight consecutive years in the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Marching Band Association Championships and his concert groups earned twenty-six PMEA Superior Ratings. During his teaching tenure his groups traveled to Orlando, Atlanta, Buckhannon, Louisville, Toronto, Virginia Beach, Washington, DC, Detroit, and Philadelphia.
Bill is a Past President of PMEA District 5, former Chair of the PMEA Music Booster Affiliate, and Past President of the Washington County Music Educator Association. He has hosted numerous PMEA Region and District Festivals and currently coordinated the Sandy Feldstein National Percussion Festival for Music for All. Bill also is a member of the Music for All Educational Advisory team. Bill holds degrees from Morehead State University and Duquesne University. Bill performs with the Washington Symphony Orchestra and is the conductor of the annual WSO Chamber Concert.
Harding “Corky” Whitacre
With 35 years of experience at the Butler Area School District where he participated in the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade, Macy’s Parade in New York City, the Kentucky Derby Classic and many others, along with his recent travel company experience, Corky joins Jeff Underwood, Peg Anderson, Jim Falvo, Bill Galvin, and Rich Salvante for a total of over 185 years of planning and escorting high school band, orchestra, choir, dance and club groups to numerous locations throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico and Europe. Corky is noted for his past continued participation in the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association. He served two terms as President of District 5, hosted many PMEA Regional and District Festivals and is presently the District 5 Festival Coordinator.
Corky has degrees from the University of Cincinnati and Duquesne University. He continues to perform with the Butler County Symphony, Jack Bowman Jazz Band, and Slippery Rock Musicians Concert Band and is a freelance musician for local musicals. He is also a member of the Pennsylvania Federation of Contest Judges and has served as Guest Conductor at County Festivals in Armstrong, Clarion and Huntingdon counties. Corky was recently selected, for the second time, to participate in the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra adult Side By Side Concert.
Cindy served on the Executive Board for several years, including a year as Band Booster President, for the Upper St. Clair High School Band. During these years, she also served as the Trip Chairman for 7 music department trips to various destinations, including Orlando, Norfolk, Toronto, Chicago and Myrtle Beach. In 2006, Cindy joined Underwood Travel Associates to continue working with student groups. In 2009 and 2012 she coordinated the travel of over 500 students, parents and coaches to Belgium for the Baton Twirling World Championships.
Rich brings to Choice Music Tours 15 years travel experience as a public school orchestra director. In addition to working with CMT Rich is currently the String Program Director of the Franklin Regional School District, Murrysville, PA. He is also the founding director of the Murrysville Youth Orchestra and is a founding advisor and past Board Member of the Newlonsburg Music Academy in Murrysville. Orchestras under his direction have received consistent superior ratings and first place awards as well as overall festival distinctions.
Previously Rich was Director of the North Allegheny School District High School Orchestra program consisting of nearly 200 students in grades 9 – 12. Under his direction the orchestra received many distinctions including consistent superior ratings, 1st place awards, and a Director’s Award of Distinction. In 2005, the North Allegheny Symphony Orchestra was selected as one of only seven other public school symphony orchestras from around the country to participate in the American String Teachers Association’s National Orchestra Festival and Conference. Rich has been involved in the Pittsburgh City Schools as a violin teacher at the Urban League of Pittsburgh Charter School and was asked to implement a long term school violin program at the Imagine Environmental Charter School in Frick Park. Rich is Founder of The Colleges of the Fenway Orchestra in Boston and was the Artistic Director and Conductor from September 1998 until May 2002. Rich graduated Magna Cum Laude in Composition from Berklee College of Music in Boston has his Master’s degree from the Boston Conservatory.
Lori brings 40 years of teaching and student travel experience to Choice Music Tours. Lori has taught in many areas of music education throughout her career including elementary classroom music, elementary band, junior high general music, junior high band, guitar classes, junior and high school chorus, and high school band (concert, marching, and jazz). She has been a teacher in both Rhode Island and Penssylvania. As a High School Band Director, Lori utilized her organizational and planning skills in leading yearly trips for her band. Lori’s bands performed in many of the top locations including the Navy Pier in Chicago, The Azalea Parade of Nations, Busch Gardens, New York City, Washington D.C., Nashville and Disney World.
Lori has been actively involved in the PMEA for many years. She is a past president of PMEA District 5 and has been a member of the District 5 Executive Board since 2001. She has attended many summer conferences and served on the Curriculum Instruction Committee, the State Conference Planning Committee, the PMEA Hall of Fame Committee, and the State Listening Committee. For the past several years, Lori has been involved in the PMEA Mentoring Program, the State Board, and was on the state ballot for PMEA Vice President in 2009. Lori’s commitment to music education and PMEA will continue as begins her second opportunity to serve as District 5 President beginning July 2012.
